Small short Ftse 6825 just to guard the downside.

FMOC wednesday and EOM friday make it difficult
to make a case for a big down today but we do
      have to cover the unexpected.

      Never give up, never surrender.

US earnings before and after the bell plus some numbers etc
some or all of which the bulls may need to be half decent.

added to short hedges by taking some of the Dax 10800 roundie. have a target of 10950 , but still expecting a dip first by tomorrow/Wednesday.

2029 spx is the deal -might need to hold those hedges for a bit longer….

Shorted close last night but closed too soon. Never mind a profit is a profit. Other times it has pinged like mad so it evens out.

I closed my Ftse short and will stand aside now until FMOC.

US stop runs will be in full swing and goodluck to those who trade it.

I am going to settle back and have a nice glass of 12yr old Glenlivet 😉

                      Well done baaa.

FMOC is seen as a non event but I wonder.

EcB have done their bit urged on by the US a.k.a. the Fed and
Canada and Denmark have cut rates. So maybe another
member of the central bankers club could pitch in.

I am happy to stay out and trade the FMOC reaction.

Over many years I have noticed how the market prefers
to find a low then rally into a known news event.

I often wondered if it were easier to rally a market
by buying than causing a market to fall by selling
from a control point of view.

After today’s action, who would want to make a call
                          if risking their own money.

Rule 48 was invoked by the NYSE this morning.
                              From zerohedge:
The status quo must be maintained…
*NYSE SAYS RULE 48 INVOKED FOR MARKET OPEN
*NYSE SAYS MANDATORY OPENING INDICATIONS ARE NOT REQUIRED
And what better excuse to stall the opening plunge implied by futures than the “blizzard” which never was… The last time this was invoked was June 2012 (amid a dramatic drop in pre-open futures) and Sept 2011 amid the chaotic 400-point swings in The Dow. Funny they do not use this “Rule” when futures indicate massive upside opens?

Richard Russell – the godfather of financial newsletter writers – has recently made a stunning assertion about the gold markets. The 91 year-old, who lived through the great depression and fought in World War II, is very gentle and humane in his writing. He is not given to bouts of sensationalism.

In his most recent Dow Theory Letters he suggests that physical gold may not be available to buy at anywhere near current prices within the next year.

“There is a giant secret stirring under today’s market. China, India, Russia and almost every central bank is buying physical gold. I’m guessing that within another year, physical gold will be swept off the market.”

The ooh indicates we may talk about Ftse 6900 and s&p 2050
at some point on this FMOC day.
