Market looks weak.
Taken a small Ftse short just incase we don’t rally.
I would prefer US to retest 2050, then fail.
Never give up, never surrender.
January 28, 2015 at 20:34 #11525I think there is a growing sense that the EcB qe cannot
fix all the problems in euroland. No surprise there
except maybe how fast good news can fade.Never give up, never surrender.
January 28, 2015 at 20:59 #11529Closed near the Ftse ooh low as I do not run trades overnight.
Never give up, never surrender.
January 28, 2015 at 23:25 #11534I ended up doing nothing today, which perhaps was wise. I was, like many, expecting a pump post Fed but it didn’t come and did the opposite. Telling?
I have had a great run in January so I am not relinquishing gains if I can help it. Wait patiently for the trade to come to me, and not go chasing shorts as I often get in the habit of doing, waiting for the ‘big one’. There again, looking at various indicators I may enter a short (one fifth or one quarter) and just never touch it for two years, and trade the other set ups day by day as they appear with the other three quarters.
gold and silver still hovering below 1300 and at 1800 respectively. Could be bouncing back down into longer term channel or could be breakouts if can decisively push through those levels. Whatever, they are long term bets not day trades.
ecb. Well yes they just shot their bullets and now the marauding GreekĀ Bear has appeared…lol. Still, I think something will hit the market from left field. An ‘unexpected’ blow up from the oil move, swissie move…. All these foreseen issues like Greece, QE ECB can be papered over and prepared for as they see them coming. It needs a ‘surprise’ to get it moving down. I am sure there are several coming in the next 12 months. I just wish I knew what and when lol.
January 29, 2015 at 08:22 #11535Dan, a big loss that ripples out through shadow banking
would be my guess as it would be silent but deadly.Never give up, never surrender.
January 29, 2015 at 09:57 #11536That relentless drop in the US after FMOC must have
taken out dip buyers, again and again. You can bet
there are loading up again for a bounce. I expect
the US will gap up but those buyers stops will
look very tempting to the stop run bots.Never give up, never surrender.
January 29, 2015 at 10:30 #11538The other side of the coin is if you were short US and did
not take what must have been a decent profit or put in a
decent stop or hedge, you could get a gap up stop jump.Welcome to the markets.
Never give up, never surrender.
January 29, 2015 at 12:11 #11539Euroland has contained what were mainly ooh falls and does
not look too bad really.I would watch the low of the s&p yesterday as a key to what
happens next. There is one pattern which could take it to
re-test the highs. The same is not so clear on Dow and NAS
which is a shame as it is nice to see confirmation of the
possible scenarios. Just chart interest, not trading it.Never give up, never surrender.
January 29, 2015 at 12:37 #11540My own plan is that I have reentered short Ftse using a trade
setup looking at 3800 target vs 7200 stop and as per normal
I will take profits and reenter when required. I mention
the 7200 stop but that is only an issue if we go there
with no downside from ‘here’. The 3800 is ideal but I
will take profits trail stops etc. I like to work out the
best and worst of any trade and plan for it.Never give up, never surrender.
January 29, 2015 at 14:49 #11543Banked 10 handles on that opening drop.
flat again now
January 29, 2015 at 14:57 #11544German market still looking pleased with itself…
January 29, 2015 at 15:05 #11545Nice one Dan
It’s a bit of a something for everyone market if your are not greedy.
Never give up, never surrender.
January 29, 2015 at 15:07 #11546got a rather larger dip than I was planning for -lol
closed all remaining short hedges now , so long dax and s&P .
looks like some rotation from US stocks into core Europe…if it persists , the Dax might have a bit to go…
January 29, 2015 at 15:09 #11547Danish Central Bank cuts deposit rate to -0.5% from -0.35%.
I thought they moved rates only recently ?
Indeed they did but I thought the previous was to -0.05% from -0.2% !!!
WTF are they doing over there, moving rates around like a slot machine
in an attempt to get a handle of the EcB qe – Swiss Franc – Euro saga !Never give up, never surrender.
January 29, 2015 at 15:20 #11548I think Dan is right.
A story is a coming to explain why US dumps (at a time when
euroland is seen as the weak link).Never give up, never surrender.
