45.70 on crude?!… Any takers?… I might dip my toe in tomorrow
You bet…. in via pension vehicle again, might only be for a day or two though…. nothing like a good brokers downgrade to cause a spike down and create a bottom lol 😉
went speculative on a few things this evening…
January 13, 2015 at 00:06 #10778….like gold spiking up, natural gas falling heavily, oil falling heavily
January 13, 2015 at 08:31 #10780Ftse can’t break away from 6500 but although we don’t know
what direction it will go, we do know it must go.This week is about OE positioning.
Next week the EcB is the focus and whatever they do or
don’t do is very likely to cause a breakout.Never give up, never surrender.
January 13, 2015 at 08:37 #10781mmmm seen it Goldman Sachs downgrade crude to fall below 40 dollars a barrel
Ark what was the epic code you used please?… Can only find crude shorts for PowerShare and DBs…
January 13, 2015 at 08:43 #10782Found it thanks 3oil
January 13, 2015 at 08:57 #10783Problem with 3OIL is that it is a uk fund, so if oil moves significantly to your target after 1630GMT you can’t trade it, so that is why I also use an american one, you can take a position on that if you are in 3 oil and want to in effect close/hedge that position, vice versa too.
January 13, 2015 at 09:51 #10784Ah ok,if u could give me an epic for the is one pls mate
January 13, 2015 at 09:52 #10785US I meant
January 13, 2015 at 09:57 #10786I’m sure there are a few but I have dipped in and out of UCO a few times.
January 13, 2015 at 10:07 #10787I recon opec are already watching you two speculators 😉
Never give up, never surrender.
January 13, 2015 at 10:17 #10788Ha ha, I filled my car up yesterday for the first time in a long time, I couldn’t believe how much cheaper it was and that some of the price falls had actually made their way through to the pumps (navigating exchange rates and taxes). Interesting when you think how much the price of crude has fallen even with the strength of the dollar increase to the pound reducing that effect on the GBP price it’s still rather amazing. On a personal scale of 1-10 in terms of risk of an oil long I think its probably a 6.5-7, I have plenty of scars from catching falling knifes (and never fully learn my lesson). Iw atched a great clip online about all the bears in oil. I guess I’m a bit of contrarian, sell when going up and buy when falling, beauty of the pension is no margin worries….. I’ve gone on in about 30% normal investment as not to miss a slight rise! but also the ability to build a position if falls further! same with natural gas. Watch this become the one I hold for 2 years just to get back to break even, lol….
January 13, 2015 at 10:45 #10789I remember the days you were hidden beneath your table in 2000 Ark.
No repeats please!!!
January 13, 2015 at 10:56 #10790Ftse rally and Cable fall could reverse here on the
lowest UK inflation ‘data’ since 2000 but it was
expected so not such a big deal really.Never give up, never surrender.
January 13, 2015 at 11:01 #10791I remember the days you were hidden beneath your table in 2000 Ark. No repeats please!!!
You bet, the beauty of speculative trades being confined to instruments/vehicle’s that do not require margin…..
January 13, 2015 at 11:03 #10792on a similar note, but slightly off topic, what with gas and oil prices here got me thinking may be time to get a new fixed monthly gas and electric provider fixing at current deals available…just did, monthly direct debit reduced by 45% woohoo that’s got to be my best trade all year 🙂
