How many banks took a hit when the Swiss Franc rocketed.
probably none. The cartel probably all got a nod and a wink and took a position to profit from the pending announcement, followed swiftly by….. A surprise public announcement !
January 15, 2015 at 15:23 #11016Well, QE has helped in US but each one helped less.
any extra cash folks get is being used to pay debt and not being used to buy more stuff, thus velocity is slowing and thus the QE is not having the desired effect.
I think it would give a short term boost to markets. There again maybe it doesn’t happen full stop. Goldman maybe scaring shorters out before it tanks ? Smoke and bloody mirrors.
if they bail out Greece again then do they have funds for QE? If that happens then that’s negative for markets (I think!)
January 15, 2015 at 15:24 #11017sold last bit of gold and will reverse short in the 1270’s , stop over 1286 , where the bear case fails

January 15, 2015 at 15:37 #11020Does the Swiss news have to follow the three move rule, a la FMOC etc.
Never give up, never surrender.
January 15, 2015 at 15:38 #11021US Equity Market Liquidity Evaporates To 3 Year Lows
Zerohedge…
January 15, 2015 at 16:33 #11022Banked oil longs
January 15, 2015 at 16:42 #11023There was a desire to tag Ftse 6500 and close Dax above 10k before
some other piece of bad news hit the wires.Never give up, never surrender.
January 15, 2015 at 17:58 #11029JPM and Bank of America down over 3.5% each.
January 15, 2015 at 19:39 #11031EcB qe will get the Dax to new highs and maybe Cac etc but
I don’t see the Ftse at all time highs and I can’t see this
alone pushing US stocks to all time highs.Even tonight we have reports of yet more terror related
police action in Belgium.Atm it looks like next weeks EcB could delay more falls
but that all depends on the detail and events which
are coming every week plus the Greek election.Never give up, never surrender.
January 15, 2015 at 20:04 #11033Looking at the charts I would be surprise if any of the
other euroland stock markets hit all time highs. So its the bank heavy Dax which will front run a rally
based on whatever the EcB have to announce.Never give up, never surrender.
January 15, 2015 at 20:54 #11040Oh crystal ball, where are you?
January 16, 2015 at 07:48 #11067US futs have taken a mini bath overnight almost to an extreme
where a sharp move is coming. A case can be made for up or
down but as I am keeping a low profile until OE (better still
this week) is done, it’s not for me.A Ftse early drop then rally into the close is what seems
most likely to me but again I am not trading today.Plenty of action next week.
Never give up, never surrender.
January 16, 2015 at 08:29 #11070Although I will wait and react, in an ideal world.
US stocks find support and retrace some of these falls.
Dax does a blow off top.
Ftse just about gets above 6600.Timed in the EcB window nextweek.
Have a great and rest a lot weekend.
Never give up, never surrender.
