Perhaps inverse h&s in the s&p pattern today as a possible short term bottoming pattern to take it to 2020ish cash -ish …. not it at my computer so not using accurate charts ?? See if it turns south again and if neck line holds.got very close….
i was on the iPhone so the target was not accurate, it was about 2013 from picture above……. Which it did, I wasn’t on it though… Shame, but you’ll never catch all the fish in the sea…..
oh…its 20:44 already, not much left to sit out, thought it was much earlier lol
crikey this is a volatile session…. 10 s&p points south in as many minutes…. think I will move to sidelines for the rest of the day…….. …..maybe…..

isn’t it probably about time all the nations of the world got together to release a string of positive stock market news, that’s what normally happens after a 1000 dow point fall isn’t it 😉 Europe surprise QE , some yellen speech , Greece to stay in EU etc etc…. 😉
I think the Ftse could well bounce wed & thur but is the low in today or do we gap down tomorrow ???? US late action could give a clue to that. I want someone else to risk their dosh and buy the Ftse back up so I can short it again, higher than here
not sen a capitulation as such, you know those candles that fall and keep falling, that said the 5 min was pretty relentless on the way down there, but not the almighty panic kind of candles, perhaps a pre market capitulation, that said alternatively an expect the unexpected…ha hah
likewise Dan, as it goes I have just closed my shorts in both day trades and pensions and am now thinking of drip feeding pension long, need to see where the daily close before I’m tempted to be buying long on the day trades as every peak = sell at the moment…. probably why they are called peaks 😉
but with vix loitering up around 23, I wonder if it wants a rest or wants to deliver the 30’s !!
This s&p 2010/11 are was supposed to be resistance on the way up but it went through it like a knife through butter, it has proved quite stubborn yesterday also, filling the gap. It is also interesting to note the the point seemed to coincide with a trend line from the 2 major lows over the last 3 months on the daily/180 min charts, so it seems pretty significant. I wonder if it will hold or not, would be typical for kind of catalyst to spike the market from here one way or the other…. I watch with interest the market certain,y didn’t want to give it up yesterday !
what an interesting expiry day, it was in some ways almost a normal day, not what I expected. I expected highs of the day at 0930EST for the expiry, not in the globex session and then a sell off or a rally, but to get a globex high, a gap close, then a new high didn’t fit what I expected. I guess that is todays lesson, expect nothing.
Looking back through the days chart it was relatively simple, down trend/channel from globex high, break out top of channel, accelerate north and then sell off a bit, the sell off a bit I didn’t expect either.
I think I’m still a bit star struck after yesterdays +50 rollox !!
decided to be flat for the weekend with them talking about Ukraine and Russia on Sunday, Putin must be feeling the pinch and if there was even the slightest sign of compromise and withdrawal this thing could have legs (aka santa rally).
Engulf yesterday’s up day Ark

but ithat doesn’t fit with santa rally tha telly is talking about ;)… They will want more, of course the cynic in me says pump up for expiry (now past tense) then drop it like a stone, but hmmmmmm……… The es 40 mark surely has to be tested….. But then I thought that about 2010 also ha ha (the level, not the year)….
Nice work.
Was v surprised they couldn’t get it higher for the open expiry, wonder of that means an underlying selling pressure or just more cons and tricks lol
i was reading that zero hedge site you link to Dan, found this story interesting…

The pump for expiry is always impressive but this one,my jaw is actually on the floor ! However that said I did long in the early hours -yippee recovered some of yesterday’s losses. However watching this drift down, I just can’t believe they have made the HOD already before expiry….. “THEY” whoever they are ….. 🙂
