but ithat doesn’t fit with santa rally tha telly is talking about ;)… They will want more, of course the cynic in me says pump up for expiry (now past tense) then drop it like a stone, but hmmmmmm……… The es 40 mark surely has to be tested….. But then I thought that about 2010 also ha ha (the level, not the year)….

December 19, 2014 at 19:05 #10371How far do we get into 2015 before the markets have to face grim reality.
The chief executive of Renault Nissan, Carlos Ghosn, has said that
manufacturers in Russia are facing a “bloodbath” because of the
plunge in the value of the rouble ->

December 19, 2014 at 20:15 #10373FTSE paused at the 61.8 and then obliterated it. Next is the 78.6% which is circa 6620
December 19, 2014 at 22:50 #10389what an interesting expiry day, it was in some ways almost a normal day, not what I expected. I expected highs of the day at 0930EST for the expiry, not in the globex session and then a sell off or a rally, but to get a globex high, a gap close, then a new high didn’t fit what I expected. I guess that is todays lesson, expect nothing.
Looking back through the days chart it was relatively simple, down trend/channel from globex high, break out top of channel, accelerate north and then sell off a bit, the sell off a bit I didn’t expect either.
I think I’m still a bit star struck after yesterdays +50 rollox !!
decided to be flat for the weekend with them talking about Ukraine and Russia on Sunday, Putin must be feeling the pinch and if there was even the slightest sign of compromise and withdrawal this thing could have legs (aka santa rally).
December 20, 2014 at 08:14 #10391Seasonal pattern is that we decline monday and tuesday and then
rally Christmas Eve through to EOY. January we decline into EOM.That sets the bulls and bears with their own agendas where they
maximise their window and minimise the opposition’s window.By monday night we should have a good idea which way the wind
is blowing and be able to protect against low volume holidays.Never give up, never surrender.
