My FMOC take fwiw.
If the Fed stick to the qe ending timetable then they are
continueing with a policy that inpart they inherited ie
they share the blame if it all goes titsarooney.
However if they change anything then they will start off
with all the blame and explaining.
Therefore I expect no change to timetable with words ‘we
stand ready to act if’ blah blah blah.Never give up, never surrender.
October 28, 2014 at 19:58 #9169Also by getting all gased up the US markets have taken
away the arm twist, going into the FMOC, which would
have been the case if markets were falling, imho.Never give up, never surrender.
October 29, 2014 at 07:36 #9182My plan is to remain short the Ftse but not have
too much open when we hit FMOC news.To me the US moves don’t look right but no change
there as we get used to these rallies on poor
volume, such is the world of qe markets.Back in the pre qe days this US rally would have
been called a suckers rally.Never give up, never surrender.
October 29, 2014 at 10:06 #9184Pop and drop on the Ftse was another cash cow.
In euroland the Dax got very excited, less so Ftse
and the French and Italians even less so.As per my plan I have closed this morning’s shorts
and left myself with just enough to cover a drop.Never give up, never surrender.
October 29, 2014 at 19:10 #9197I’d like to know how exactly they keep rates low for a ‘considerable time’ without gobbling up bonds…..
October 29, 2014 at 19:20 #9200FMOC as expected and an initial damp squib reaction.
Staying short the Ftse and not expecting too many
fireworks until 5th Nov 🙂Never give up, never surrender.
October 29, 2014 at 20:15 #9205Some good 60 min trend lines crossed from lows if it closes around these levels or below, closed vix short this morning (in pension) and have reversed vix long, I.e. I’d like the fed to have just put the nail in the bounce ! 😉
October 29, 2014 at 20:44 #9207Coke-a-Cola and McDonalds reported poor earnings lastweek and
if these guys are not doing aswell then it’s hard to see the
attraction of holding US stocks unless they go up. Even in
a low interest rate economy.A correction is due soon even if it results in one last big
dip buying frenzy. But this ticking clock will break and we
go down as hard as we did in the credit crunch era, imho.Never give up, never surrender.
October 30, 2014 at 14:31 #9211Ftse pop and drop today was great and even though
I have been very busy, I did take advantage.Let’s see if the US can follow euroland this time.
Never give up, never surrender.
October 30, 2014 at 18:20 #9212Today was a Fed wash day as expected but that does little to
account for US moves if you add in ooh all of which could be
made to look better if US rth revisits today’s ooh in the not
too distant future. Lets assume that does not happen
today but it would be fun if it did !!!Friday is last of month and monday is first of month so
that could be book squaring although it is not a qtr
so it could be tame.Going forward it’s tuesday onwards where we see what
we have got in these charts.Never give up, never surrender.
October 30, 2014 at 22:27 #9215I’d like to know how exactly they keep rates low for a ‘considerable time’ without gobbling up bonds…..
the market took care of yields between qe’s
October 30, 2014 at 22:31 #9216we rallied at end of qe1 and end of qe2 and the taper announcement, so no surprise here.
wait for lower high to form on daily, then hold onto your hat if same pattern in play
October 31, 2014 at 07:37 #9218BOJ signals qe increase from 70 to 80 tril yen and that
has taken ooh quotes for US and euroland way up
so we are in for a lively last day of the month.I thought it would have been the ECB which surprised
on the qe front.Never give up, never surrender.
October 31, 2014 at 08:57 #9219To me BOJ going from 70 to 80 tril on a pro rata basis
is +14.28% of a failed program.Reaction in US and euroland ooh quotes is more likely
a blow off / stop run which opens a gap to trade.Never give up, never surrender.
October 31, 2014 at 09:14 #9220Adding a bit to be sure, I would say the Ftse bulls
need to break above 6600 for me to take it serious
in this current move. I am not saying they will
not be able to but rather doubt it can be done
without a decent drop first. To me this is a stop run and will have caused
many shorters to be stopped out, imho.Never give up, never surrender.
