Flat now and will take a look early monday.

Still lean towards a lower low but not going to trade for it.

Thanks to all who posted this week.

Now where is that case of French red wine !

If the US markets follow euroland then lower lows later.

I would be surprised if the Dow stays above 25000

No trade for me over this weekend.

Buyers of Dow cash in the last 30 mins … surprising.

                    Gap open monday perhaps.

Dow simple daily chart with Fib retrace targets.  Interestingly (and perhaps significant) the drop finished exactly on the 61.8 retrace…

The S&P on the other hand stopped at almost exactly 50%.  The 61.8 at 2750 *might* be an eventual target (or not) but perhaps the 50% is *enough*.

Interesting that both indices *stopped* at important Fib retrace targets…

In the Dow shorter term there are many possibilities.  Two options are a sideways triangle or a descending wedge.

The latest decline from 27,000 isn’t a clean five wave thing so it must be a ‘three’ of some sort.  That ‘three’ can be the next part of a sideways thing or the first part of a gently descending wedge (or something else of course).

Given that the Dow bounced firmly at the 0.618 retrace (24,600 or so) and the descending wedge target doesn’t meet any logical fibs, I’ll guess that this isn’t the most likely path.  Sideways for the moment is my best guess.

BA:  I’ve commented several times on the ominous gap at 220.  It seemed impossible at the time, but there’s a clear sharp break from the top pattern and it has already touched 255.

OIL:  just seen the big oil story.  Prices are expected to mini-crash Monday and probably in part explains the Dow weekend futures down 500…

                                No position for me atm.

My next trade could be a dip buy if Dow gaps down monday.

Interesting that the number of new cases announced daily in China and Korea seems to be declining.  Only 50 people have actually died in Korea and the Daegu area remains locked down.

Astonishing news from Italy with a massive increase in cases resulting in Government action to isolate Lombardy, Milan and Venice.  Nobody allowed in or out.  According to The Guardian the Italian government decree includes a three month prison sentence for anyone found breaking the quarantine.  Now that’s serious stuff…
