March 28, 2020 at 17:06 #29428Good to see you got it fixed you daft tinkering mustard….
re next week I suspect we’ll have a whole host of grim news so wouldn’t be surprised to see recent lows tested and maybe taken out. I reshorted Friday night.
Looking at the speed that alot of the financial instruments moved in last few weeks, I’d be expecting a tonne of downgrades, bailouts, busts and the like to compound the covid news. Covid is merely a catalyst for what was going to come at some juncture anyway.
March 29, 2020 at 05:32 #29429SPX: unfortunately the upwards pattern has become complex and I can’t determine the shape. I’ll make a guess that we’ve had an ABC up with some sort of rising diagonal thing. But this really is a *guess*.
On the daily, the target remains an overlap of the 2,730 area. Possible that we’ve got a larger ABC rally forming – wave ‘A’ perhaps complete, now in ‘B’.

Notice the solid divergence in the RSI at the low. Now the MACD is curling upwards and has crossed the signal line giving what some might describe as a buy signal.
Pinch of salt please…

with Monday Thursday Friday a fight for control.Project Timing is a tough read but it looks futures will have
a big impact. Could be sell futures and buy cash IF you can
get in at the right point of the futures vs cash seesaw. My plan is to sell rallies, with extreme care.
Never give up, never surrender.
March 29, 2020 at 11:06 #29434I think it’s important to have a distinct intraday, short term and long term view here. Friday the rally into the late afternoon (US time) was just untradable. Every little tiny dip was bought back up.
Yet crooks hour came and it sold if 80 ES points in a flash.
The bill is signed, so now we move on from that. Trump is now talking a full lockdown of New York and New Jersey. There are 1.2 billion Indians in lockdown who are not buying any goods other than necessities.
This week has the potential to be very bearish imo and at this stage I cannot see the “selling the rallies” change as the curve of new cases and deaths is still going up exponentially.
The worry for bears is the unlimited supply of money and low inflation, meaning rates can stay low indefinitely. They say, never the fed, but again that’s all about timeframes.
The issue of all of this is that many companies will now downsize / disappear and that will lead to massive job losses.
Going forward many more will work from home, so that has a direct impact on all the new construction office blocks and commercial property.

March 29, 2020 at 13:12 #29436Hi everyone, nice to see some old faces. Nice to see Pritpal won the Queens award. Thoroughly deserved. At the moment personal health and the well being of ones family is paramount as we don’t know what tomorrow holds.
If the market falls further my plan is to purchase some index trackers and hold it for a while. This is unprecedented and many have been trained to buy the dip so the market could go lower into April before further increases. I feel sorry for all the small businesses or self employed and those who have been made redundant.

Thank you Kitsu, it is indeed an honour. The problem is that after this is over, there will be many more homeless to feed 🙁
Small businesses are really finished with all this. The world will change for ever as far as employment is concerned. Commercial property will be in major trouble. More and more will work from home.

March 29, 2020 at 23:18 #29438I see we have gapped down but I am not closing any shorts yet.
Asia has yet to open and reflect the tank on Friday.
The prices in the morning should be lower.
A voice does keep telling me though not to fight the fed, but the fed are powerless until we stabilise coronovirus.
The last crisis was a banking crisis. This is now going to be a consumer led crisis and they are deadly.
I really do not want to sound like a bear, but it is what I am seeing currently and thats my plan to trade.
