FOMC today … ECB thursday … UK election thursday-friday
those events should move markets.Santa Rally ?
Big picture January looks more interesting.
Never give up, never surrender.
December 11, 2019 at 15:52 #28543I have taken a nice profit on gbp:usd trade … thx hatman.
I now have the Dow matched long / short for FMOC.
Never give up, never surrender.
December 11, 2019 at 20:12 #28544I have a matched pair for FMOC 3 way moves.
…
Small short Dow at 27950
…
Small long Dow at 27850Close both and take the difference.
No positions now.
Take an extended Christmas trading holiday
and hold funds for 2020 looks attractive.Never give up, never surrender.
December 11, 2019 at 23:46 #28545Dow and SPX very reluctant to drop. This might just be a topping pattern prior to a sudden decline for wave ‘c’ of the triangle. Or, something else might be happening.
The triangle scenario is my only ‘count’ at the moment.
December 11, 2019 at 23:49 #28546I feel the need for a holiday. Next Spring I plan to go to Mallorca to take my sailing theory and deckhand exams. But in the meantime I might take a break and go to Hainan Island China – the Hawaii of China near to North Vietnam.
And I really must visit my Mum and Dad in North London next year. Been too long.
December 11, 2019 at 23:53 #28547Election: I don’t trust the Polls. Personally I have a gut feeling that Jeremy Corbyn will get better than expected results, but probably not enough to unseat Boris. I don’t like Boris – silver spooned career politician who knows nothing (and cares nothing) about ordinary people.
December 12, 2019 at 03:43 #28548I expect a hung parliament … get the rope out !
Never give up, never surrender.
December 12, 2019 at 07:37 #28549I am now short gbp:usd and short eur:gbp and expect
to profit from both on the swings.Never give up, never surrender.
December 12, 2019 at 10:19 #28550Atm it looks like the ‘V’ shaped week is playing out.
ECB today
UK election result early friday
Weekend deadline for US tariffs / deal or no dealI think the last one is the mover.
Never give up, never surrender.
December 12, 2019 at 15:33 #28551I am now short gbp:usd and short eur:gbp and expect
to profit from both on the swings.Closed both and took the difference (in moves from entry)
as over all net profit. In effect this trade was a hedge using unmatched instruments
which sounds clever but is not really.Never give up, never surrender.
December 12, 2019 at 15:40 #28552US cash wants the futures (h) on all three big boys.
Spx and Nas have make it but Dow lags most likely held
back by the dead weight Boeing.Never give up, never surrender.
December 12, 2019 at 15:50 #28553I remain short GBPUSD. 1.32 is the trigger. If GBPUSD remains below this level once the election results are in, I’ll increase my position. Looking for 1.29, but this target might take a while – the MACD daily needs to fall below the zero line. Might take two to four weeks.
December 12, 2019 at 15:52 #28554Atm it looks like the ‘V’ shaped week is playing out.
Not really symmetrical but it will have to do.
Kept me out of trouble this week.
Never give up, never surrender.
December 12, 2019 at 15:54 #28555SPX: I had 3153 as the absolute maximum for this move. Now trading cash at 3160 so all counts out of the window. I don’t have a position.
December 12, 2019 at 15:57 #28556If the Dow tags 28250 cash or futures today I will short it.
Nothing above US majors but the sky !
Never give up, never surrender.
