Dow futures chart this week has a few spike down
and recover features. A sign we may have a bit

Small short Dow at 28275 x 3I was lucky we had the initial drop to get me on a better footing.
Atm it looks like hatman’s Dow cash only needs 28200 to overlap
is about right as it just does not want to drop !I am holding these shorts into the cash close.

SPX: if this is to be the rising wedge to 3210 (it might not be of course) then SPX has to decline to either 3185 or 3175 to create the overlap. No overlap, no wedge.
Ripple (XRP) trading near 18c. Peak was $3.30 two years ago. I’ve never been involved with any of these ‘coins’ thank goodness.
GBPEUR: my original long term chart had/has around 0.97 as the final target. It got to around 1.065 then had the ‘election rally’ which didn’t seem to fit with anything. However, with the Pound now crumbling and markets afraid of ‘no extension so increased risk of hard Brexit’ perhaps the Pound will try for the 0.97 over the next year…
…. and if we look at the recent move it’s possible to interpret the long sideways consolidation and election bounce as a B wave. This of course would fit nicely with the extreme falling wedge because the final move down has to be a big three.
Interestingly (and might not be coincidence) if we take 0.618 of A down we get 0.21. It hit 1.21 on the election bounce, so 1.21 minus 0.21 equals parity…

VIX: following the note on ZeroHedge that the notorious ’50 Cent’ is buying January calls, I decided to have a look at VIX.
It’s certainly interesting. Couple of things – first, it seems to like the 10.5 area as a base then go shooting upwards; second – there seems to be a shorter term descending wedge thing that hasn’t finished yet.
The chart does seem to link to the idea that SPX will reach 3,222 and then drop significantly, with of course the spike upwards in VIX.
