no don’t fancy expiring just yet…

business is good…. We have ‘too many’ enquiries and I am desperately trying to get more qualified or knowledgeable gardening staff.

We may make the papers as well, after Network Rail / TFL tried to stop us putting plants outside our shop. We have done this outside Kew Tube Station for near on 25 years. We make the area look incredible. It is ridiculous.

So I raised the issue with my MP, Zac Goldsmith (running for Mayor) and he, after having no success with the junior people at TFL, has taken it to Boris Johnson! Wicked! What a fantastic MP!

Excellent Dan, you deserve your mp’s backing.

Got the sp500 2000 touch before the Fed with little trouble.

            Place your bets 1900 1950 <2000> 2050 2100 anything is possible.

Damp squib, maybe quad expiry is the anchor.

Extended weekend for me, back next tuesday.

Let’s take a look at history. In 1980, as the nation was still reeling from the Carter-era inflation and investors were buying up precious metals, silver peaked at $52 an ounce. Adjusted for inflation, that’s about $143 today!

FTSE topped out with a small overshoot of the August high. I guess it’s down for a while now. Maybe as far as cimac’s August low, which is over 300 points below the current 6120’s. Would be nice to run it all the way down but with the current volatility it’s very difficult to run positions.

S&P down circa 20 handles, FTSE down 60 odd points, just wondering if we get a spike up at US open which is usually the case on OE days. I’m currently flat, want an opportunity to get short.

Yea you’re probably right but with only an hour to go until open I’ll wait and see if we get a spike. if not I’ll short it anyway.

getting a bit long this morning  , stop below 1954.

looks like a backtest of the rising trendline , until it’s not . If the 1950’s hold , nice rally ahead . If not , I might join you short

Concerned that rising line is base of wedge, being a bearish mustard. I suppose it could have another move up before breaking but looks pretty complete to me. Nasdaq 100 is nicest of the wedges I think. If it is a wedge and it breaks down then recent lows should be taken out…

Heh Paps, buy some gold n silver too and hide it in your fish tank….

Just looked at FTSE daily and lo and behold FTSE is now right on the rising trendline. However, the line is only based on two data points so may not be reliable. Will hols off the short for the moment and wait a bit longer. Thanks Rupert and baaa for bringing my attention to the detail. That’s the problem with only doing this casually as I am these days, I’m not always aware of everything that’s going on.

just post what I see paps….mostly garbage !

the futures low was 1954 , so that remains lis for now . below 1937 and bears are in clover , but I don’t want to run longs that far , hence my stop.

only thing that bugs me is the seasonal weakness, so if I see a chance to close half my long for a few , I’ll do so before running the rest
