The EU has refused to comment on a report that Russian President Vladimir Putin allegedly threatened that he could send troops not only to Kiev but also to several EU capitals in Eastern Europe “within two days”.
Mr Putin allegedly mentioned the Baltic cities of Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn, as well as Warsaw (Poland) and Bucharest (Romania). These countries are also Nato members.
Germany’s Sueddeutsche Zeitung says it has a leaked document showing that Mr Putin made the threat to Mr Poroshenko, and the Ukrainian leader then passed on the comments to EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso at the weekend in Kiev. <source bbc>
I wonder if Ukraine regrets getting rid of it’s nukes.
Never give up, never surrender.
September 18, 2014 at 13:32 #7691Ms Pitcaithly has said she will announce the result at “breakfast time” on Friday.
The result is most likely to be between 06:30 and 07:30, according to Elections Scotland.
That is because the final Scottish declarations in the 2010 UK parliamentary elections and the 2011 Scottish parliamentary elections declaration were made at those times respectively.
However, running totals – which can be made from the first declaration onwards – may indicate a result earlier in the morning.
September 18, 2014 at 13:50 #7692Not sure I can work out what the Fed chairman was really saying yesterday.
I guess hiding the fact that qe has pushed US stocks into a bubble which
demographic trends will puncture. They have only delayed the pain and
even put more people in danger of loss when stocks readjust.Being in the US, could they be taken to court for deception !!!
Cleansing Fire is the word I have seen written for what is to come and
it has an almost biblical sound, I like it.Never give up, never surrender.
September 18, 2014 at 14:06 #7693Some people seem to think that many guys wearing ‘Yes’ tshirts
will vote ‘No’ in the privacy of the polling stations. How cynical.
Never give up, never surrender.
September 18, 2014 at 14:52 #7694I think the kpad would look more attractive to new visitors
if we all had better ‘pictures’. I know you can register
your mug shot at another site and link to it here but
please ‘K’ can we go back to the old method ?Never give up, never surrender.
September 18, 2014 at 15:13 #7695Situation with the Ftse is getting like the recent Scot
vote odds which I think were ‘No’ 1/4 and ‘Yes’ 3-1Likewise the higher the Ftse rises today, the less of
a rally we get on a ‘No’ vote because the surprise
would be in a ‘Yes’ vote.If we go much higher into the close then I may take
a small Ftse short as the odds may not be good but
the potential rewards are. Even a ‘No’ rally will
fade at some point because we are still in a mess.Never give up, never surrender.
September 18, 2014 at 16:04 #7696all the pending news over the next few days makes for risk , but looking to add back some shorts tonight/tomorrow morning . a d/t or maybe a marginal new high to 2014/15 would work – much above there and the shorts will probably be wrong and we see 2040 or 2070. For now ,biased short.
took 2011 to add the short back , as planned….
September 18, 2014 at 16:24 #7697Goodluck with that baaa.
We have to get past quad oe and then see where we are nextweek
but my focus and plan remains shorting the Ftse, even if I do
give up on mid October, for a retest of 6000 🙁Never give up, never surrender.
September 18, 2014 at 16:28 #7698Ftse is positioning for a ‘No’ vote based on exit polls.
Ftse is 6815 atm, give it atleast 35pts initial reaction to
a very close vote and we get 6775 – 6850 with more
either way if it’s a landslide, imho.Never give up, never surrender.
September 18, 2014 at 17:07 #7702Cheers cimac, just as I thought, result expected in the morning
September 18, 2014 at 17:54 #7703I think it may be next week Paps, as The Edinburgh Abacus has broken down…..
September 18, 2014 at 20:39 #7714Cable and Ftse ooh are showing that traders are
positioned for a ‘No’ vote. Even a ‘No’ vote
with too small a majority would cause ripples
in the market. Best fun would be a recount.Never give up, never surrender.
September 18, 2014 at 20:42 #7717US bulls are pushing this all the way into quad oe
which makes it look like a very one sided market.Never give up, never surrender.
September 18, 2014 at 20:56 #7719Small short on the Ftse here just to cover the
low odds ‘Yes’ or a recount 😉Most likely this trade will not pay off now
but can be my first of a phased entry.Never give up, never surrender.
September 19, 2014 at 00:03 #7724I really don’t know how I’ve managed to sit on my hands today.
Good job I was working till 11pm
I want to smack this down so badly.
Today’s the day (Friday ).
good luck !
