We have a pattern of the US pushing up and euroland not really
that interested re new 2014 highs even when it’s the EcB who
      are making the noises.

NFP tomorrow will be another reason to hold onto these levels.

The thing to note about all of the above charts is the manic and blow off phases of the bubbles. They all conform to the bubble characteristics that I described above. Of particular note, the (irrational) euphoric rise always has a parabolic shape and the bottom of the bubble always ends below the mean and below the start of the bubble.

Now that you have a pretty good idea what a bubble looks like, what do you see when you look at this chart?

Final part of Ftse short added at 6605

I agree with paps that this looks an individual effort from the
Ftse which is the kind of irregular behaviour which happens
                  when the market is unstable.

Keeping you company cimac, short FTSE at 6602, I may keep that for a while, see if we get a big down in the next few weeks.

I hope we get a cit type daily candle on the Ftse because
the lack of one so far has been a worry to Ftse bears.

I will watch the NFP reaction but most likely will not
                      trade again until next week.

So far no sign of a decent drop for the Ftse in the first half
of November but I am reminded that the drop I had
expected in the first half of October was right
at the end of that window, even a few days
                        later for the bottom.

A while back I referred to a trend line which has several data points, beginning at the early  July high. It finally broke above the line in August and stayed above, touching it several times from above, until late September when it fell below the line. The next two days tested the line from below and then fell away, leading to the mid October low. The rally since then has taken FTSE back within striking distance of the trend line. It is slightly down sloping but today it would hit at approx 6640. It may want to go there before dropping significantly, if not today, in the next few days. May not but something to watch. If it hits the line I will add to the 6602 short.

Cashed in the 6605 at 6565 due to trailed stop getting a bit tight.

I still have the 6520 underwater to cover downside nextweek.

That will do for me this week.

silver missed my stop by 4 pips o/night  , now 70pips higher. need gold to close well over 1160 tonight & at least the downtrend is done for a bit. gold miners going bonkers now , with randgold up 15% in a few days

added to spx shorts today , but needs some proper selling volume to get us back below 2020 , which opens up 2006/7 ,etc, etc

Options…. Tempted to get some puts on the overall market with a decent lifetime. Given that when the collapse comes I reckon it’ll be very rapid, then these could make a killing. For example get an 1800 put now for very little I would imagine. If it crashed big time it could be 1400 and you’d cream it.

I have never really touched options but for a potentially huge move I think they could be a good way of trading it. If it doesn’t happen in that time all you lose is the cost of the option.

Any thoughts folks? Who offers them?
