US markets only gave back a token of the recent rally and that
is very bullish. Unless we go negative over the weekend into
monday, there must be a chance the bulls can hold most of
the gains and rally again into the 18th Feb new moon.

No open positions for me atm. I will study the charts and
see where we open on monday.

        Never give up, never surrender.

Ftse could be a butterfly. Some say a bat or hanging man but
the angles and dimensions are not sharp enough for me.

Peak at the start of 2000, another mid 2007, so 2015 would
be a good fit time wise and in an ideal world mid year
at the latest but anywhere from here to the Bradley
on 9th June is best. Price wise here at 6900 or
upto 7200 would look ok to me.

It’s my top play for 2015 for sure.

            Never give up, never surrender.

For the purest a Ftse ath would give a nice wing tip 😉

The end game could well be a Greek exit, sometime in
March, maybe that is their best option.

The rest of euroland will have the EcB purchases, also
starting in March, to ensure banks do not run dry.

UK is also drawing up plans for a Greek exit.

                        ASX 200 @ Fri 6 Feb 15 – Intraday

From the December 8th update: “ … a breach of last February’s 5052 wave-4 low would likely confirm that the rally from March 2009 has topped.”

5052 was not breached and the index advanced impressively over the intervening two months.

A modification to the established count is necessitated by the recent price action.

The terminus of the 4th wave triangle shifts to the 5142 Dec 2014 low (previously 5052 Feb 2014 low). Both are valid termini for the triangle but 5142 is a better fit to the pattern that has developed since.

Although the initial topping target (based on the length of wave-1) remains unchanged at 5482, the other element of the topping range increases by the 90 point difference between the 4th wave triangle termini, that is from 5735 to 5825 (where wave-5 equals wave-1).

The WEEKLY chart shows the index printing a 5850 high today where w5 is 25 points or 3.7% longer than w1, a good place for caution while awaiting evidence of a top.

The target range is marked by red horizontals.

A breach of December’s 5142 wave-4 low (magenta horizontal) would likely confirm that the rally from March 2009 has topped.

Thanks WND … I have been trading the ASX 200 recently
when it seems good value (ooh) vs euroland rth.

Atm we have ooh prices for US and euroland which are
at or near the US rth friday lod. A good reference pt
for the start of this week.

So we have Ftse 6800 and that looks like a sandline
to judge the bull or bear bias for this week. imho.

                            Note ‘bias’ is my term.
                            Bullish above 6900
                            Bearish below 6700

I’m running them via pension so a bit more longer term for me, I’d like to see 10,000 tested as support 🙂 though if it did a -400 day I would be tempted to cash them in and re-enter higher. The position is up at present and I expect some 10600 support, though I would be happy if it failed 😉

as you have observed, Dax has been reluctant to fall of late but happy to go nuts in a northern direction, imho

Looking at stories which say the euro would go belly up if Greece exits.

No, Greek banks would go belly up and the euro would tend to get stronger.

The real downside for euroland is likely to be that the EcB qe is or has
to be used to help keep the boat afloat.

                                  Never give up, never surrender.
