Glad I did not take on Cable & eur:usd as a Ftse short is
more than enough risk in these thin markets, imho.

A good early marker for today in the US is can the Dow stay
above the current ooh 16500 after about 30mins of rth.

      Never give up, never surrender.

Ftse pattern is all alone out there amongst majors
so today we may have seen a ‘top’ but more likely
        it’s a ‘3’ with ‘4’ down and ‘5’ up to come.

Which ever it should be possible to short, move
stops to guard a profit and maybe have to redo
        the short higher.

        See ya next week.

        Never give up, never surrender.

Bradley turn date 1/1 and 9/1. I’m thinking down into 9/1 fwiw. No idea on fx at the moment.

Cheers hog … I had stocks up into Jan 1st and the 9th Jan a no
show which is good cos different views make a market.

Ftse short ( 6735 ) stop at b/e now and would close at 6700 if
it were offered in 2013 and then re short next year.

My girlfriend is short Dax at 9576 for a big 2014 play which
is a risk ahead of the 2013 wrap but goodluck to her.

            Never give up, never surrender.

<td rowspan=”1″ colspan=”1″ align=”left”>The bull market is in its fifth year, can we really expect the rally to continue in 2014? Probably not. The average bull market lasts two years, this one has been going on for longer due to the amount of stimulus provided by the Fed. We are in a first degree extreme in bullish sentiment, this condition occurs at major market tops. According to my interpretation of the wave count there should be a final wave up in January-February before the bull market ends.

A top in February would make sense. Tapering is underway, bond yields are rising as expected and with another debt ceiling deadline in March, the stock market chaos will return in the first quarter next year. I expect bond prices to fall and yields to rise in 2014. The stock market could go sideways for most of the year. It won’t be a one-way bet anymore, those who have been accustomed to making money by following the trend will get a shock when the stock market returns to its natural path. Only those with trading skills, discipline and a deep understanding of the market will succeed in 2014. On the weekly chart, here is the pattern:

The final wave up is a fifth of a fifth [wave 5 of (5)]. The target is 6900 sometime in January-February. Thereafter I expect the bull market to end.

Today is the last trading day of the year, the UK stock market will close early (12:30). I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year, 2014 will be full of surprises. 2014 will be the year when most pundits, investors, traders… will be wrong-footed.

As I said, my girlfriend is short Dax 9576 and I said I would take
on half the risk of a twin trade if she were to long the Ftse 6750,
which she did. So we have a joint venture in a kind of odd two way.

Both markets are closed now so 2014 should start lively for both
of us whatever state we enter it.

                  Happy days.

I would not want to trade the US today as there seems
to be no sellers, atleast atm. After today selling is
more attractive from a tax point of view so thursday
could be a red day for US stocks.

Take care if you are still trading US stock markets.

                              Thanks Hoggy.

                              These are posts from yesterday.

The theme has been not to short into this timeframe of XMAS and New Year. No matter what happens it always seems to rally.

So we have to wait for volume to pick up which will be after WNER day and Crooksday.

After that we can look for a tradeable short,

Good morning all, 1.25 point range so far overnight. The waste of time market continues. We await the final hoorah of this leg up for a meaningful retrace. It may even look like wanting to retrace later but imo it will bve false ahead of Friday and Monday.

I am so, so glad I stayed away from this pollux. That is mad but expected. As I keep saying, Crooksday still to come and then WNER I really want to short but got to wait. All the best
