In an ideal world I would like the US buyers to come back in and push
right into tonight’s close. Then a gap down wednesday and buying
again into FMOC and after that they can do what they want.

So come on dipsters, really get stuck in 😉

US dipsters have taken the night off but the Ftse ooh quotes
are now a decent amount away from rth close so that part
            of the plan worked.

who said expiry week was dull !! do we really have 2010 double top with a 1960 mid point targeting 1920 ? daily 50% retrace is about 1945…….

I notice that some are saying 2014 is a mirror of 2007 and 2000
so that is something I will look at for possible clues as its
interesting if there is a seven year cycle.

Ftse 6350 – 6400 is possible near FMOC time imho.

I am not trading until we get initial FMOC reaction.

Atm with these larger moves almost everyday we can leave any
thoughts about quad oe to one side as anyone who wanted
to must surely have squared their books and risk profile.

We have FMOC later and on the face of it qe is done and low
odds we get any rate change. So it seems like it could be a
quiet, damp squib event but this is when the market can
go mental about any odd word in the press briefing.

                    Stay out or stay sharp.

I agree cimac, I think of interest will be what they have to say about current oil situation and if they perceive it as a stimulus or otherwise and what this will do to the timetable regarding interest rates.

As for not trading till post FOMC, I thought the same…. and then went long…couldn’t resist it, stopis in at B/E and see what happens.

By now in 2007 both the Ftse and house prices had peaked
and there was no Santa Rally. I suspect that the same
situation had been seen across the pond.

So for major stock markets and in particular the Ftse
bulls do have a big task on their hands.

With markets having atleast found some support you
would think a bullish FMOC was vital for those
who still see higher highs up ahead.

A bearish FMOC would put the boot in and leave the
bulls with just a ‘hope’ of a weak Santa at best.

The problem for traders like myself, with no open positions, is that

If this week’s lows hold then you would expect a strong initial
bounce, if it was event driven.

If this week’s lows fail then … yes you’ve guess it …

                          Never give up, never surrender.

if there is doubt… then there is no doubt cimac, sitting on hands and doing nothing is the hardest trade of all ! (for me anyway).

For the very reasons you state I have taken my long scalp profits and will wait and see. This last week of latest move suggest it will be driven to lows for expiry but as you say it could as easily flip the other way, yesterday some bloke says he’s thinking of standing as a candidate and whoosh +10, to go to +25 or whatever it was, then lost it all, that dos make me wonder how much of that was short covering . It also has me wondering how low the market could have gone without said catalyst – seeing as it gave it all back !!

traps all over the place, it’s like a mine field…..

Ark, you can’t go bust taking a profit so well done.

Reviewing this weeks daily candles it was a surprise
that some of the euroland markets look better than
the three main US stock markets. This reminded me
we must not forget the EcB whilst Fed watching.

If these major stock markets are going the way they
did in 2007-2008 etc then we have plenty of scope
to make profits in 2015. On the other hand if the
bulls make a run at highs, then let them try and
wait to see how high they can go.

No matter what, we are going to make profits at
the good old kpad in 2015 😉

                              Never give up, never surrender.

One last point re today’s FMOC …. I have read that many
see today’s meeting etc as the most important of 2014
which is a surprise because we expect nothing. It is
all about how the timing finds US stocks very near
to what look like must hold support zones. That is
very dangerous territory for smaller players.

                                Never give up, never surrender.

My trip wire tells me we have entered this zone
so it’s gets a bit more interesting.
