I cannot put an exact number on Dow – it’s either 24689 or 24219.

Yes then new all time high 34369.  But will likely take four years.

There is a risk here that the ‘flat’ or whatever it was actually completed with that early plunge yesterday.  For both spx and dow it was just about c=a making a ‘running flat’.

If so then the markets are trying to form the next five up sequence.  It’s a bit scrappy, but if spx can open at or touch 2935 that would increase the probability ie that is likely wave 1 of something.

If it does that, then it might return to 2923 or so and then start rising again.

          Small short Dow at 26310 … stop 30000 … limit 24500

          Closed at 26150

When STD does not perform as expected … it’s a warning !

So take the money and run.

Well there’s a surprise.  Now the sideways triangle is back in play and is the primary count.  If so a final rally back to the 2923 area is required.

Friday wss the Bradley high day.  Allowing a day or two either side, a rally back spx 2923 might also be considered the high.

There are no more Bradley dates until Oct 8.

I have had no time to look at charts but will do
                that on sunday.

                Just from STD observations …

Friday S3L with the normal down day and late ‘l’.
Something about the timing of that late ‘l’ did
                remind me of last tuesday.

Monday S2 with the S1 on sunday we cannot know
the rotation but we assume S2H with the normal
as a morning ‘h’ and down into a late ‘l’.

I think monday the odds are S2H and we may
recover a lot of the drop from friday.

                Never give up, never surrender.

                  Yes, this looks quite possible.

                    Correction … monday is S1 … odds are L

At the weekend I review my STD and found to my
horror that I had skipped a day !
You would think even old cimac could count in
                    a 1234 1234 1234 etc sequence !

We need zarif back with his daily STD post.

To be clear friday was S2L and when I have reviewed
my charts I will try and work out the implications
                      for monday.

STD gives no firm clues for monday and it would
be safer to see if Dow cash gaps up or down.

Bigger picture I think we may rally but we do
still have a date with the Dow green line.

I’ve been playing around with the four day cycle idea and I’ve read that section of the Wilder book again.  It’s a really interesting concept and looking back at a few charts I can see that it has some validity.  The fact that ‘markets repeat or invert every four days including weekends’ seems to show up on charts, and also might explain why Fridays and Mondays are often volatile (trying to fit four days of action into two).

On the attached chart I’ve tried to identify the last ‘day one’ and then project forward the four day sequence.  I believe we are trying to form a sideways triangle and if so the next move should be upwards to complete wave ‘c’.

As for Monday I’m undecided.  Messing about with numbers etc there’s a likelihood that a little more downside is required at the open before the market reverses and starts heading upwards.

I doubt I’ll be going long for this move given the high ‘tweet risk’ of these markets, but I’ll be watching with interest to see if this chart projection ‘works’.  What I’m really looking for is the best opportunity to go short.

“Venus and Mars (the lovers or quarrelers) are in conjunction to one another in the perfection-oriented (i.e. critical) sign of Virgo, and in a harmonious trine aspect Uranus, August 24 through August 28. The Sun will also form a trine to Uranus on August 29. Normally, one would think that would boost equity markets and indicate a breakthrough in negotiations. It could, especially as those same planets then form a trine to Saturn and Pluto, September 1-19. But behind those soft trines lies more potent cosmic forces: the conjunction of Sun and Mars on September 2 and the third and final passage of the Jupiter/Neptune mutable waning square on September 21. During the first two weeks of September, the Sun/Venus/Mars transits will form a hard T-square aspect to Jupiter and Neptune. This is why September could be a very confusing time, with contradictory messages announced. It may be fraught with rumors, resulting in either “irrational exuberance” or hysteria – or one followed by the other, as the facts cancel out the rumors, and/or hopes are dashed by the facts. Stock markets of the world may swing wildly during the first 2-3 weeks of September.”

Kospi:  if Kospi is trying to form a triangle then it has finished wave ‘a’ and now trying for ‘b’.  In order to achieve ‘b’ Kospi has to be smacked down on Monday to at least the 1925 area.  This is another reason to expect weakness initially in the US markets – yes Kospi should react negatively to the US Friday action, but it can achieve the target better if it also sees weak US futures.

Astro configuration looks like August 1987 when
there was a rally to a ‘h’ on 30th August and
the problems started after Labor Day holiday.

A rally to complete Dow ‘B’ would be ideal if
it ran into the friday before Labor Day.

Like you hatman, I am waiting to go short
for Dow ‘C’ down to the zone we agree on.

Oh thanks for reminding me of Labor Day Monday Sept 2nd.  I’d overlooked it.
