The close above September high suggests a minimum of 1747.00 cash before significant downside. If it goes through 1747 then 1780 comes on the radar.
October 18, 2013 at 09:36 #1629Papillion,
Why the rude attitude ?
I have said on here I haven’t shorted the market in the last few days and trade more long term now, I have said I expected it to rise but was not prepared to commit to the long side (because I generally don’t like buying in the regions of tops and resistance) my posts state I was waiting for short entry, the down side I expected but did not back did materialise Wednesday night ( not backed by me as my own style perceived the risk higher than I like to enter anticipating marginally higher levels – trying to limit the detour on the way to destination).</div>I now see that risk as less and have entered short on a medium term based on my own style and timescales.
Each to their own and hopefully everyone respects everyone else’s different trading styles, one person may perceive a close above a high as a signal, others may wait for further confirmation, I wish you well with your trades.
Kind Regards 🙂
October 18, 2013 at 10:37 #1634Paps thanks for you input it has kept me focussed….
Ark , not sure if you saw my post before but what instrument do you use to play the S&P i have used the ishares plc s&p500 (iUSA). and the market has moved well over 50 points since my entry but my account isn’t showing the same sort of profit i would have expected. I use suk2 for FTSE shorts and that is much more reflective of the market
October 18, 2013 at 14:42 #1642afternoon all,
for what little it’s worth, I’m looking at a turn windown from here to tuesday and hoping to see 1744cash min. If it happens( & possibly if it doesn’t) , I want to be swing short to catch what I expect to be the largest decline since the 1074 low . Not sure I want to be posting targets , but the largest intra-period decline was c160 pts and it should exceed that.
don’t think the bull is over , but a mix of rubbish earnings , rate issues and macro nonsense should be sufficient to get it going & it might be quite speedy.
nice to see you’re still on form K
October 18, 2013 at 14:47 #1643Baaa … Awesome to hear from you mate. I trust you are well as always.
Wow that is some post and thanks for sharing.
Not far from my view except this is TREND UP and MAD QE BULL MODE.
If that 174x.x breaks up then 177x and even 1800 SPX can become a reality for the XMAS RALLY. There are no bounds or limits in CROOKS QE BULL.
However what you see, I see basis the MEDIUM TERM SYSTEMS that are due to trigger any day now.
Keep in touch buddy

October 18, 2013 at 15:40 #1655Paps,
Get hold of Mike Hand…. We need a rematch of that pool game.
Dan.
October 18, 2013 at 16:50 #1660I see all the reasons for 177x and clearly anything is possible .
Next week and the delayed release of all the data looks key to a reversal or an acceleration and i’m prepared to risk a few handles on a scale-in , having no idea where it will ultimately top. But I have a plan with a min hit of 1744 , so that’s where I’ll start .
I do think we’ll see 1800 and more in 2014 after everyone is surprised by the dip and thinks the bull is over ….
Mind you , I ‘m sure the Systems have it all mapped out in a rather more defined way!
best regards
October 18, 2013 at 17:19 #1662Yeah, shows the map Kman, or I’ll send the boys round.
October 18, 2013 at 19:03 #1669Sorry for delay in reporting but SL well and truly sliced through for my re-entered short AUD/USD 0.9530 for -45 …… hence my signature from now on.
Good to see more voices on here with respect for views on both sides because that is what makes the market and often there is room to profit both ways.
Even better to see many posting more successful trades than me :-{Good weekend to all.
Please feel free to trade the opposite to me - but whatever take responsibility for yourself and above all DYOR !
October 19, 2013 at 14:50 #1681lol Salty, a wise signature whatever the case.
Unlucky on AUD/USD, it is not one I have looked at for a while.
As always I look forward to next week in particular what the name of the game is going to be.
Delayed NFP’s on Tuesday is the immediate focus.
Have a great weekend all.

October 22, 2013 at 15:03 #1733Hey Paps, you were bang on, my call was wrong, grrrrr. and here was me thinking I had been patient, lol
October 22, 2013 at 18:52 #1738Mike (Ark),
I’ve just seen your post above re. my “rude attitude”. If that’s the way it came across I apologize, wasn’t intended. It was just making me cringe when I saw on here people shorting this when the trend was so impulsively up. (Almost parabolic). I was really just trying to give a wake up call that the top wasn’t in and give an indication – in my opinion – where it might go.
October 22, 2013 at 19:46 #1744Mike Hand said you were rude Paps…. Making me wonder :p
We all need a rude awakening…lol….. Thanks for your input. I did read it but didn’t do much about it….lol
October 22, 2013 at 19:52 #1745Hi Dan,

October 22, 2013 at 21:07 #1757Of course! More crooked than QE that game of pool! Lol
